Happy Thoughts

Three things happened on Nathan’s long walk to Fort MacNamar. First, Nathan realized he was anxious to see his new friend again. Second, he noticed Davies had left his wallet in one of his jacket pockets. Third, Nathan found the MPs were ordered to detain anyone found on base grounds with extreme prejudice. But seriously, a dozen MPs?! Did they really need a dozen men to aim guns at him?! Nathan kept his hands on his head—until the gruff MPs bent them back and cuffed them. At least they were kind enough to bring along his pet rock.
